You’ve spent years getting good at something. Somewhere along the way you stopped noticing how you do it. Clients get results. Someone asks what makes you different and you say “I just know.”
The Lab is where you find out what “I just know” is made of.
It’s a private Skool community. You bring a transcript of yourself working…
A client call, a working session, a decision in progress. You run the extraction prompts against it. The prompts pull out the choices you make without thinking, with the exact quote behind each one. You keep whatever comes out.
Membership is included with a paid subscription to this newsletter. You can also join directly on Skool.
How a session goes
Every section of the Lab runs on the same loop. Bring one source. Run one method. Keep the asset.
A source is a transcript from a useful call, a decision you made faster than the people around you, a draft that still sounds generic, or a process your team keeps asking you to explain. One is enough to start.
An asset is whatever the method produces that you can use next week. A named rule. A diagnostic. A pricing argument. A post. Every lesson ends by naming what you now have and where it goes to work.
Each method carries two time estimates: how long until the first useful result, and how long the full method takes. Some prompts give you something in 10 minutes. Some workflows want 90 minutes and five transcripts. A chooser table lists both numbers for every method in the classroom, next to how many sources it needs, so you can check before you commit an afternoon.
One source gives you a candidate. Three to five give you a pattern. A contrasting source shows you where the pattern breaks. That rule runs through every lesson, and it’s the reason the findings hold up when a client pushes back.
The Five Pillars
The classroom is built as a road. Five sections, each one moving you a step further, from “there’s a hidden system in how I work?” to charging for it.
1. The Fingerprint
Why you can’t see your own expertise, and the science under it.
This is where you start if the idea is new to you. The Judgment Economy articles open the section, so a member who came in through Skool gets the same road a newsletter reader walked. Then the science: the four layers of knowledge, the five reasons expertise goes invisible as it grows, why asking an expert to describe their process produces a bad witness.
The four recorded Invisible Expertise classes live here, each about 90 minutes, each with a companion lesson that carries the full prompts from that class:
Class 1: Exploring your four layers of thinking
Class 2: Decoding your decision DNA
Class 3: Create your CognitiveOS
Class 4: Packaging your unique value
Also in this section: the Intelligent Objectivity training, the two podcast deep dives (AI Explored with Michael Stelzner, Future/Proof with Dan Koe), a reading library of 15 articles on the science, a five-minute taster you can run without a transcript, and an honest page called “When this won’t work for you.” Read that one before you spend an evening on a call.
2. The Map
The full territory sitting inside one recorded conversation, charted.
Most people run one extraction, get one result, and stop. The Extraction Map shows the five layers a single call holds: the decision rules at the core, the frameworks built on them, the signals that show up in the room, the assets they become, and the stories that carry them.
Each layer’s page tells you what to hunt for in a transcript, which tool in the Lab pulls it out, and what the output turns into. The section closes with the chooser table and a short page on the quote lock and the evidence ladder, the two rules every finding has to pass.
3. Extraction
The prompts, workflows, and Claude skills you run against your own calls. This is where the work happens.
The methods are filed under the Map’s layers, so you can pick by what you’re hunting.
Cognitive Core: Value Archaeology (the default first prompt), The Decision You Didn’t Know You Made, The Pattern Your Team Can’t Copy, Expert Blind Spot Detector, Decision Architecture, the Thirteen-Minute Method.
Signal: Breakthrough Pattern, The Three Lenses.
Story and language: Problem-Solution Extractor, Transcript-to-Content Extractor, Story Mining System, Language Mining Method, The Uncle Test.
Every method page carries the full prompt, the two time estimates, how many sources it needs, and a “this worked if” check so you know whether to keep going or switch methods.
The section opens with the skill installer: 13 Claude skills as downloadable files, with a table of what each one does and what to bring. Install one, run it on a transcript, and the method runs itself.
4. Your Method
Patterns become property.
Once a pattern shows up three times with quotes behind it, this section turns it into something you can name, teach, and hand off. Signature Method finds the methodology inside repeated client work. Find Your Stadium Sign gets it down to one line. The Framework Naming Workshop names it from the evidence, never from the AI’s imagination. The Expertise-Embedded SOP Generator writes it up so your team can run it without you.
There’s also a short page on the ladder of abstraction, the rule that every pattern gets shown at three rungs: the verbatim quote, the named pattern, and the job it does.
Then the model library, “In the wild.” Three fully documented methods so you can see what a finished, quote-backed fingerprint looks like: Coach K, Reginald Love, and Sam Altman. Coach K and Reginald Love each come with three application prompts you can run on your own work. The section ends with a lesson that walks you through applying one documented pattern to a call of your own.
Framework Factory, my earlier course on turning expertise into IP, sits here as a labeled bonus.
5. The Guide Position
Pricing, positioning, and content built on what you found.
The section opens with Map vs. Guide, the six things clients pay you for that have nothing to do with the steps. The more you share the map, the more demand there is for the guide. This is the argument behind every price you’ll ever quote.
Positioning: Pricing Justification Builder, What You’re Actually Selling, Authority Architecture, Resistance Alchemist, New vs Better Language Map, Belief Mapping, Zero Resistance Toolkit, Obvious Choice Workflow, Pitch Script Generator, The Vault Builder.
Content: Content Engine and the Blank Page Eliminator, both fed by the transcripts you’ve already run.
Info Product Market Validation sits at the end as a labeled bonus.
Bonus tools
Outside the main road. Vibe Coding 101, a 94-minute recorded session on building the small tool your method needs. Two research skills, Reddit Trend Mining and Problem Finder and Validator, for finding the language your market uses before you write a word.
The library
The full prompt and workflow library that used to live behind a password on the site is inside the Lab now, filed by pillar. New prompts get added weekly. Members who came in through the newsletter find each week’s prompt already waiting in the section it belongs to.
The recordings
Everything works in writing, so the Lab stays useful whether you watch or read your way through. For members who want the classes: four Invisible Expertise recordings, Intelligent Objectivity, two podcast deep dives, and Vibe Coding 101.
Who this is for
You’ve spent years building expertise that works and you can’t explain how. You know there’s a system behind it. You just can’t get at it on purpose.
You’re tired of saying “I just know” when someone asks about your methodology. Tired of losing deals to people who packaged it better. Tired of rebuilding your approach from scratch on every engagement.
Who this is not for
Every method has conditions. The Lab produces very little if you haven’t automated anything yet (the patterns come from repetition), if your work leaves no room for judgment, if you want a label instead of a change, or if you have no recordings of yourself working and no way to make one. The full page on this lives in The Fingerprint. If two or more describe you, wait. The Lab will be here when the conditions change.

What members say
“I’m hesitant to even write this testimonial because Max and the Cognitive Fingerprint have been my secret weapon. It’s allowed me to see patterns, blindspots and frameworks I would have never spotted before. He’s made me look cool in front of my friends and wow’d my partners and stakeholders and overall made me an AI practitioner who gets great results.”
Mike David, Entrepreneur
“AI went from being this generic disappointment to being a regular thinking partner. Max didn’t just show me how to use AI. He taught me how to make the invisible visible, things I didn’t even know that I was doing or saying. I come out smarter and richer every time we connect.”
David Limiero, Founder, Edens View Coaching
“I have used two of these prompts, and came away impressed. Every time we go meta, I get a dozen other ideas for things I could do.”
Bonnie
“That’s bang on. That’s all me.”
Lou
Who’s running this
I’m Max Bernstein. I make invisible expertise visible.
I spent 2025 building a system that uses AI to catch the patterns experts can’t see while they’re running them. The prompts in the Lab are the same ones I use with clients. The recordings are the classes I taught to get there.
One extraction that helps you win a deal covers the whole year.
